Two Resources

Resource one: Text Evidence Bookmarks

As you know text evidence is of huge importance on the upcoming ISTEP Applied skills test! After all, it's the first standard listed for Reading: Literature and Informational Text in grades 6, 7, and 8. I have copied each grade level's related standard below so that you can see how it progresses as students advance through the grade levels.

6.RL.2.1 Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what a text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

7.RL.2.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what a text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

8.RL.2.1 Cite the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what a text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

Resource two:  ISTEP Testing Posters

Posters to hang in your classroom (or hallways) to encourage our students on upcoming ISTEP. There are 7 posters.

( Please don’t forget to check the ELA ISTEP Resource page for new extended-response resources. Also, don’t forget about the constructed response modules on the Highland Middle School Canvas Commons page.)
