Textual Evidence - Constructive Response

Presentation

This 30-slide presentation lets your students be the teacher! Students get to grade several constructive response answers. This lesson is very effective in showing students how important it is to cite evidence from the text.

Students get to see what it takes to get a perfect score, as well as what a low score looks like. This lesson lends itself to a lot of discussion since students do not always agree on a grade.

This presenatation can be enhanced with your own student work or prior
 ISTEP released items.

This presentation contains the following:

- Intro slide
- I Can statements
- Question: What does every good teacher follow when grading?
- Rubric is provided
- Two page reading passage
- Constructive Response question
- Scoring rubric
- Six student responses ready for grading with corresponding slide for grading and a sample score
- Closing slide
